2012

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) – Gold Status

UPS became the first major packaging delivery and logistics company to earn Gold Status certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) along with Energy Star certification for its corporate headquarters complex.
 

Climate Counts – Climate Counts Scorecard

For the third year in a row, UPS earned the top score in the consumer shipping sector on the annual Climate Counts scorecard. UPS also shared the 11th highest score across all industries.

Junior Achievement USA – President’s Volunteer Service Award

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a presidential recognition program that recognizes individuals and organizations that contribute a significant amount of time to volunteer service. Junior Achievement Worldwide is an official certifying organization for this award and recognized UPS in 2012 for donating more than 5,000 volunteer hours to the organization.

2011

National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre – Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award

UPS employees in Singapore were recognized for their volunteer efforts by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre with the Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award.

Carbon Disclosure Project – Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index

UPS was named to the 2011 Carbon Disclosure Project’s Global 500 “Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index” and is one of only four other companies in the world to receive the highest score, 99 out of 100.

Human Rights Campaign – Corporate Equality Index

For the fifth consecutive year, UPS earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, an annual survey that rates U.S. corporations on their non-discrimination policies and practices toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers.

United Way of Canada – Thanks a Million Award

For the 10th year in a row, UPS Canada received the Thanks a Million Award which honors organizations that contribute more than $1 million to United Way – Centraides.

Human Rights Campaign – Corporate Equality Index

For the fourth consecutive year, UPS earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, an annual survey that rates U.S. corporations on their non-discrimination policies and practices toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers.

Maplecroft – Climate Innovative Index

UPS was ranked No. 9 among the Top 100 global companies selected for the first-ever Climate Innovation Index by Maplecroft, a UK-based company that reports on sustainability-related risks.

Coalition for Clean Air – California Air Quality Award, Corporate Leadership category

UPS Airlines was recognized by the Coalition for Clean Air for its effort to reduce environmental impact by operating the most fuel-efficient fleet in the cargo industry.

Southeast Diesel Collaborative/EPA – Industry Leadership Award
Louisville UPS was recognized for exceptional efforts to reduce diesel emissions and improve air quality in the region.
